Reddit Posting Times

Choose a posting window around the community, the discussion, and your ability to respond.

Start with the community's clock

There is no dependable best hour for every subreddit. Consider who reads the community, their timezone, when relevant discussions are active, and whether your contribution is still useful when it arrives.

Leadmore's Reddit timing guide proposes Tuesday–Thursday, 6–9 a.m. US Eastern as a broad starting window, while emphasizing that individual communities differ. Treat that as a hypothesis to test, not a measured recommendation for your subreddit or a RiseMore scheduling feature.

Use different timing for posts and comments

ContributionDecide based onCheck before approval
Standalone postCommunity activity, audience timezone, permitted posting days, and your availabilityThe topic is useful now and fits the current rules
Comment on a threadWhether the original question still needs an answer and whether the discussion is activeNew replies have not already covered your contribution
Time-sensitive announcementThe real event, moderation requirements, and delivery termsThe content will remain accurate if delivery takes longer than expected

For a comment, a useful answer to a current question matters more than waiting for a generic weekday slot. Reopen the thread before submitting: it may have gained a complete answer, been locked, or changed direction since discovery.

Find a starting window from real activity

Read recent relevant posts in the target community. Compare similar topics and formats rather than treating one exceptional post as a normal result. Record the posting time with its timezone, the age of the post when you inspected it, and the kind of response it received.

Pick a plausible window when your intended audience participates and you can follow the discussion. Compare a few comparable contributions over time. Check replies and useful conversations as well as votes; a popular post can still reach the wrong audience.

Do not change the topic, format, community, and timing all at once and attribute the result to the hour alone. Keep enough context to understand what changed. This is a manual evaluation method, not an engagement heatmap supplied by RiseMore.

Check rules before optimizing the hour

A community may restrict promotional posts, require a recurring thread, or limit links. Read its current rules before preparing the contribution. Timing cannot make an off-topic post appropriate. Reddit's Reddiquette advises checking community rules, choosing an appropriate community, and looking for duplicates.

Account for delivery in RiseMore

The current Reddit workflow lets you review and Submit for delivery. It does not expose an exact-hour scheduling control. The submission time is not a confirmed publication time; read the current delivery terms and avoid relying on an unpromised deadline.

If the discussion changes while a contribution is still eligible for Withdraw, return it to editing and review the context. After publication, inspect the real post or comment permalink and follow the conversation.
